The Data Science Competence Center (CCSD) of the University of Geneva is pleased to invite you to its next Data Science Tools.
Data Science Tools is a meeting, where a researcher presents a data science tool (method, software, etc.) he/she uses in her/his research.
For this edition, our speaker will be Béatrice Joyeux-Prunel, Faculty of Humanities.
Abstract:
The platform Explore (SNSF project Visual Contagions) has been deployed to track the global circulation of images and motifs in illustrated prints whose dates and places of publication are known. It allows to extract illustrations from these corpora, to group them by similarity, and to classify images in chronological and cartographic order. Explore will be presented in its two versions: one accessible to the general public on Open Access collections of illustrated periodicals; one, private, reserved to research projects.
